About the Artist

Contemporary Landscape Artist

Lynda’s first solo show was in 1990 and titled, “Nature’s Heartbeat.” She had recently graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Fine Arts degree and was on her way to Windsor University to study for her Bachelor of Education. She will never forget that thrilling feeling of conversing with people at the show about her work. Her journey began as a printmaker, etching copper plates, pulling prints and hand painting them. She also enjoyed creating massive woodcuts using a router to carve with, and a wooden spoon to meticulously transfer each layer of ink to these limited-edition prints.

In the midst of a fulfilling 25+ year career in education, she is grateful to make a return to, “Nature’s Heartbeat,” and has begun a wonderful and new artistic journey.

As Lynda eagerly embraces inspiration, she remains firmly grounded in nature. She actively seeks connections and deep roots, much the same as the interdependency of the land.

Lynda paint using acrylics, on canvas as well as wood. Colour, shape and line are elements found in all of her pieces, with movement and energy being conveyed through the use of brushstrokes. Most, if not all of her collections, abstract or contemporary landscape are fed through Lynda’s fascination and love of nature. She feels very fortunate to be able to share her interpretations of landscapes through her paintings.

Lynda is represented by Loft Gallery in Ontario and her paintings are in personal collections across North America.
