Collection: Cherie Daly

I am an intuitive, non-objective abstract painter. Making art is one way I connect to my inner self. Art became an escape for me during periods when my son was struggling with his mental health. It became a way I could escape for a while from life's difficulties, by becoming absorbed in my art. I am able to communicate my feelings through my work and become totally present in my body, not judging or thinking until I step back from my work. I play with paint, markers, collage, and tools such as spatulas and squeegees, exploring relationships between shapes and lines, colours and textures. I try to "Let Go" and follow my intuition. The more I am able to let go of trying to control the outcome, the more authentic I can make my work. I am also trying to live my life by this motto - Let Go.

ABOUT THE SUMMER SHOW

Please follow all our live updates on Instagram & Facebook for all things MAC: @muskokaartsandcrafts

The Muskoka Arts & Crafts (MA&C) Summer Show is one of Ontario’s oldest and largest rural outdoor events, serving as a key highlight of the summer season for both residents and visitors alike. This three-day event brings together over 200 of Canada’s most talented artisans, showcasing a diverse array of handcrafted art, from stunning sculptures and intricate jewelry to beautiful textiles and captivating paintings. With an estimated 10,000+ visitors each year, the show is a must-see cultural event in the heart of Muskoka.

As MAC’s largest yearly fundraiser, the Summer Show has a significant economic impact on the region, benefiting local businesses, galleries, and, of course, the artists themselves. The event provides a vital platform for creators to share their work with a wider audience, promoting local talent and strengthening Muskoka’s vibrant arts community. It’s not just a shopping experience; it’s a celebration of creativity, culture, and the spirit of collaboration that defines this stunning region.

In addition to the incredible artistry, the Summer Show also features live local music, entertainment, and an array of delicious food options, creating a vibrant atmosphere where visitors can engage with the arts in a lively and social setting. Whether you're an art enthusiast, a local business owner, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of Muskoka, the Summer Show offers something for everyone.
