I am a retired Outdoor Educator formerly employed by the Toronto District School Board. My home base has been the Huntsville area for almost 4 decades.

I am a realistic wildlife painter and photographer. The medium I am working in is acrylic.   I have only been creating art for the past 3 years.  I am very grateful to have spent most of my adult life working in our natural environment, which inspires my work tremendously.

I was a participant in the June 2023 Art Crawl in Huntsville with HAS (Huntsville Art Society) showing 3 of my Paintings at Beavertails, Huntsville. I was able to continue for the rest of the year and in total had 7 works hanging in Beavertails.  Two paintings were sold.

I have shown my art in February of 2024 in Partner’s Hall in the Algonquin Theatre in a New members show with the Huntsville Art Society

I had 14 pieces hanging in Partner’s Hall for the month of May, 2024, titled; In the Presence Of.  Mostly originals and some prints.  Two originals were sold.

I will be showing a piece in MAC’s Autumn Art Crawl 2024 in MAC on Main.

I was interviewed by HAS on Hunter’s Bay Radio,  Arts R Us, on May 13, 2024.

I have participated in two markets in Huntsville, November 2023 and May 2024. Some original paintings, prints, photographs and greeting cards were on display for sale.

I have commissioned two Pet paintings and gifted four.

My work is displayed both on Facebook, under my name and Instagram @pirie61

ABOUT THE SUMMER SHOW

Please follow all our live updates on Instagram & Facebook for all things MAC: @muskokaartsandcrafts

The Muskoka Arts & Crafts (MA&C) Summer Show is one of Ontario’s oldest and largest rural outdoor events, serving as a key highlight of the summer season for both residents and visitors alike. This three-day event brings together over 200 of Canada’s most talented artisans, showcasing a diverse array of handcrafted art, from stunning sculptures and intricate jewelry to beautiful textiles and captivating paintings. With an estimated 10,000+ visitors each year, the show is a must-see cultural event in the heart of Muskoka.

As MAC’s largest yearly fundraiser, the Summer Show has a significant economic impact on the region, benefiting local businesses, galleries, and, of course, the artists themselves. The event provides a vital platform for creators to share their work with a wider audience, promoting local talent and strengthening Muskoka’s vibrant arts community. It’s not just a shopping experience; it’s a celebration of creativity, culture, and the spirit of collaboration that defines this stunning region.

In addition to the incredible artistry, the Summer Show also features live local music, entertainment, and an array of delicious food options, creating a vibrant atmosphere where visitors can engage with the arts in a lively and social setting.
